National Western Stock Show

Established in 1906, the National Western Stock Show, (NWSS) is one of the oldest and largest stock shows in the United States.  The top annual event in Denver as ranked by the Denver Business Journal, the National Western’s 16-day run attracted 643,100 spectators in 2009.

The size and scope to the National Western is not easy to grasp.  Within their 600,000 sq. ft. complex centrally located near the crossroads of I-25 and I-70 in Denver, the annual event provides a huge and diverse selections of programs, exhibitions and activities including 42 ticketed events.  There is literally something for everyone.

Colorado Garden & Home Show

Simply stated, there is no other consumer show of its kind in the Rocky Mountain West that has achieved the success and notoriety of the Colorado Garden & Home Show. 

The 51-year old non-profit organization utilizes more floor space, (400,000 square feet), attracts larger audiences (70,000 adults), has more exhibitors, (sold out nine months in advance to 650 companies) and invests more in advertising, ($245,000+ paid plus $250,000+ promotional), dwarfing its next closest competitor.  The notoriety and benefit of association of this annual event provides its sponsors with tremendous reach, impact and exposure to reaching and selling to their target customers.

The 51st Show will be held from February 13 - 21, 2010 at the Colorado Convention Center in the heart of Downtown Denver.  It is truly the largest marketplace in the region for those researching and purchasing products and services for the home and yard.  Independent economic impact studies have determined that each year, $40 million in incremental commerce is generated from the Show. 

 

Denver Century Ride

Denver’s newest active-lifestyle event is the Coldwell Banker Denver Century Ride. This inaugural bike ride will take place on Father’s Day, June 20, 2010, and will feature a 22-mile Family FUN Ride, an EXHILERATING Metric Century at 62 miles and a CHALLENGING Century route at 100 miles.

Anticipated to attract 3,600 participants, each ride will follow a circular route that will start and end at INVESCO Field and cover a blend of urban, suburban, foothills and mountain terrain on roads and trail systems throughout the Denver Metro area for all levels of cycling enthusiasts to enjoy, from novice, to intermediate and avid cyclists.

Father's Day 2010, was selected to provide the ideal way to spend a fun and healthy day outdoors with dad, friends and fellow cyclists. The ride will conclude with an old-fashioned community picnic at INVESCO Field. Other activities include an Expo and Finish Festival where riders adn spectators can discover the latest and greatest products and services for their active lifestyle.  

 

Cherry Creek Arts Festival

No other Festival in North America as been as lauded as the Cherry Creek Arts Festival.  It has received an unprecedented four times, the Gold Grand Pinnacle from the International Festivals & Events Association (IFEA), distinguishing it as the top Festival in its budget class worldwide.  Furthermore, the Festival was singled out the last two years by the artists themselves as the top arts festival in the United States by the National Association of Independent Artists. Each year, managers from festivals across the U.S. come to experience the Cherry Creek Arts Festival to learn their best practices that have produced such a reputation.

Recognized as “Colorado’s Signature Cultural Event,” each July fourth weekend for the past eighteen years, many of the most accomplished and cutting edge artists from across the United States and around the world make a pilgrimage to Denver’s North Cherry Creek district to share their amazing works with the people of Colorado

Colorado Dragon Boat Festival

Held the last weekend each July, the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival attracts more than 105,000 attendees comprised of a diverse and desirable audience.

Few events in Colorado combine as many elements as the Colorado Dragon Boat Festival.  It is a sports competition with 54 corporate and community teams comprised of some 1,350 competitors, plus 100,,000+ spectators. It is an ethnic celebration of Colorado’s rich Pan Asian American heritage. It is a cultural showcase of diverse Asian cuisine and performing artists. It is a marketplace of unique and hard-to-find arts, crafts and vendors.

Cherry Creek North Food & Wine

In 2009, Colorado’s premier shopping district, Cherry Creek North teamed up with the organizers of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, Colorado’s most celebrated visual arts festival, to produce a new event celebrating the culinary arts. Cherry Creek North Food & Wine debuted to stellar reviews.

Taking place August 20, 21, 22, 2010, this culinary showcase will once again be held under one magnificent tent erected in Fillmore Plaza and will showcase the finest in gastronomic delights with a focus on local and regional celebrity chefs and restaurants. Features of the festival include free daily cooking demonstrations, culinary programming for all ages, specialty workshops, tastings, wine pairing seminars and much more.

Colorado Fall Home Show

Fifty years after the creation of the Rocky Mountain region’s largest and most successful consumer show, the producers of the Colorado Fall Home Show are launching a new fall consumer home show debuting September 19 & 20, 2009 at the Colorado Convention Center.

Occupying 200,000 sq. ft. of the Convention Center, the focus of the new show is to “sustain, renew and inspire.”  Special emphasis will be made on the products, services and practices of green lifestyles and sustainable living.

The show, in addition to being an excellent marketplace for the attendees, will feature a sustainable living pavilion packed with the latest environmentally friendly ideas and two theaters featuring those topics along with other home improvement experts.

 

 

Parade of Lights

For 35 years on the first Friday and Saturday nights following Thanksgiving week, the 9NEWS Parade of Lights has signaled the official kick-off of Colorado’s Holiday Season. This community celebration has delighted audiences young and old, both those attending in person along the two-mile parade route through Downtown Denver, or those tuning into the highly-rated primetime telecast on top-rated 9NEWS. This year, on December 4th and 5th, the 2009 9NEWS Parade of Lights is expected to draw more than 375,000 live attendees plus be tuned in by another 360,000 households for the high definition telecast.

 

Since 1883, Colorado’s two oldest and largest universities have met on the football field more than 80 times to determine who will win the Centennial Cup and state bragging rights for the next 364 days.  As the official kickoff of the college football season in Colorado, the CU vs. CSU game pits these two premier institutions what has become the Rocky Mountain Showdown.
